Woodbridge

City and State (or Province): Woodbridge, VA

Country: United States

Best and worst seasons for riding: Spring and Fall are best, summers are fricking humid and with the types of drivers, winter can be downright dangerous.

Best and worst time of day: All times of the night and day are bad. Traffic sucks. Stay Alert!

Best and worst time of year: Spring and Fall but outside the metro area.

Best and worst roads to take to work: Riding to and from DC, 95 N/S HOV lanes are the only way.

General impressions on your fellow motorists: Pretty clueless. I had 12 encounters in my first month back on the bike. I adjusted my driving style and the encounters went down to 1 every couple of months. Most are on the phone, eating, reading the paper/book or otherwise distracted. Stay Alert!

How cool or grumpy are the local cops: During commute they seem to be pretty cool. I've been waved down by bike cops ("go slower") and received a brief *boop* from cop cars to slow down. A friend got pulled over doing 80 and only got a warning.
