Florida Keys

City and State (or Province): Florida Keys (a chain of islands at the southern tip of the state)

Country: USA

Best and worst seasons for riding: With an average temperature of 70F Dec-Jan, there is no winter. The year is split between a wet season and a dry season.

Best and worst time of day: Since there's nowhere to rush to, there's no rush hour. But the best days are Mon-Thu. Traffic swells on weekends and holidays.

Best and worst time of year: There's a population boom Oct-Apr with retirees "wintering" here. It's also busy May-Aug, the traditional vacation period for families. So I guess that leaves Sept as being the best time of year.

Best and worst roads to take to work: That's easy, there's only one road, appropriately named, US 1.

General impressions on your fellow motorists: They're too busy sightseeing to pay attention to the road.

How cool or grumpy are the local cops: You'll have a hard time talking your way out of a speeding ticket through zones designated to protect our people and miniature deer.
