2008 Honda CBR600RR

Yes, for a time I owned this little beast. Over 100hp and about 410 lbs wet, this was one of the most fun bikes I'd ever ridden and the best I'd ever owned. Also my very first brand new vehicle. For the price, some people said, I could have bought a nice used car; the thought never even crossed my mind. These people had obviously never ridden a real motorcycle.

I almost touched a knee to the ground on many an exit, broke most traffic laws at one time or another, hit over 160 miles an hour a few times, and logged over 11,000 miles in the eight or nine months I had it... then traded it in for my current ride, the Shadow. Helluva jump, no? I just never expected the insurance on a new supersport to be so criminally expensive, and I could not keep up with the monthly installments in addition to the bike payments - a total of $450 a month!

I loved riding the piss out of her, but it just wasn't worth it. But not to worry, I still love sportbikes and will have one again, probably when I'm done with school.

(I never did much to this bike, other than cut down the rear fender, change all the turn signals, and add a Puig double bubble windscreen and frame sliders.)
